When your table is ready we'll bring you upstairs for a dinner prepared and served with love, but not too much froufrou. Like the movie, Moonstruck is about letting go, and enjoying the simple joys of life: Love, Family, Food, Drink, and Comradery. And like the movie, it's not to be taken too seriously, but savored and enjoyed. Welcome "a la famiglia, Capeesh?"
"Moonstruck's lyrical cuisine makes diners wax enthusiastic. Its
lure is clear: a succinct regular menu of Mediterranean-style starters,
engaging moderately priced pastas and simple, yet not blasé,
grilled entrees supplemented by a list of more complex, inventive specials
that freely and confidently employ a range of global accents and concepts.
The plates as they are served to diners are stop-to-admire pretty without
requiring surgical skills to dissect and eat, not fussy, architectural
fare, but dig-in-and-enjoy dishes that satisfy and intrigue all the
way through... Moonstruck's elegant new home in Asbury Park is a measure
of its astounding success and popularity. The three-level space on Lake
Avenue, with its mushroom-colored walls, wood accents, ceiling fans
and French doors that open to let in ocean air in summer and serve to
add a sense of expanse in winter, is impressive and inviting ." -Andrea
Clurfeld, Asbury Park Press
When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine That's amore. When the stars make you drool just-a like pasta fazool That's amore. When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet, you're in love. When you walk in a dream but you know you're not dreamin', signore, 'scusa me, but you see, back in old Napoli, That's Amore! -Sung by Dean Martin; Words and Music by Harry Warren and Jack Brooks
